Verrucae & Warts

We give the best Services

Verrucae are highly contagious viral infection caused by human papilloma virus. There are many different strains of this virus and verrucae are usually due to just a few of the strains. Commonly the infection spreads from one person to another through contact with contaminated surfaces such as floors of locker rooms, shower cubicles and tiled areas around swimming pools. Verrucae can occur anywhere on the soles and soles and commonly the weight bearing areas.

PROFESSIONAL VERRUCA TREATMENT

At Superb FootCare, we use different types of verruca treatment these include cryotherapy (freezing), application of strong acid bases chemicals, Verrutop and Falknors Needling Therapy.

VERRUTOP

Verrutop is a topical solution for professional use providing painless treatment of difficult verrucaes that is highly effective in just a few applications. The treatment works by killing the wart tissue breaking down its protein structure, leaving intact skin underneath. Verrutop is suitable for adults and children as young as 6 year

FALKNORS VERRUCA NEEDLING

Verruca needling is a minor surgical procedure that’s carried out under local anaesthetic. It involves puncturing the verruca multiple times using a fine, sterile needle. This brings the virus into direct contact with the fatty tissue beneath the skin, which is rich in immune regulators thus allowing the body’s immune system to recognise and destroy the virus. The advantage of Verruca needling is that it usually only requires a single treatment, although we see you for post-treatment check-ups.

CRYOTHERAPY CAUSTIC ACID

FREEZING (CRYOTHERAPY)

Cryotherapy is application of liquid nitrogen directly to the verrucae, this causes a cell mediated response via local inflammation.

CAUSTIC ACID BASED CHEMICALS

Stronger acid based treatment more effective than OTC. Caustics cause a controlled chemical burn on the verrucae leading to inflammatory response by the immune system consequently eliminate the infection.
